Another slight change in direction/mood.

Letting my dark side come out and play for a while.

"Contrary to popular folklore, an oppressive, unexpected silence met any traveler foolish enough to venture near one of the so-called 'screaming trees' scattered along the edges of the Forgotten Lands. Within their vicinity all hope and optimism ebbed away, replaced with despair and regret, leeching out any tendrils of remaining fortitude. A presence would be felt, a weight - a crushing weight. It would close in and focus its mass entirely on the hapless wanderer, as if a billion unseen malignant souls were holding their breath, waiting, watching, daring the unfortunate to cross the threshold to their accursed domain. Sometimes, it was said, when the lightning came from the West, the Lord of that domain would appear on his black horse near one of the trees..."
