Description Not REALLY Steampunk this time since it's more Sci-fi this time, but it is part of the Steampunk Ducks Trilogy.
This is the third installment, and is the story I am currently working on. As was previously mentioned in the last Steampunk Ducks pic, I'm writing the trilogy backwards due to wanting to reveal certain information that way. The story is called Space Gems, centering around the Duck family and the bumpy relationship between Donald Duck, the story's protagonist, and his uncle Scrooge.

The red heart jewels and Mickey's blue orb have a very big role in the story, but I can't tell you yet since it would ruin the surprise XD

The main cast for this story was a LOT bigger than the other two, so it took me a lot longer to complete. Here we go (left to right):

Launchpad McQuack: Pilot and Captain of the starship The Queen, largest of Earth's near-five-hundred Colonial Ships. While he is clumsy and simple-minded, he still remains as Scrooge's first choice to command the vessel, as well as the Alchemist's best friend and confidant.

Gyro Gearloose: The ship's head Scientist and at times one of its top engineers. He keeps track of most of the maps they collect of the surrounding galaxies, and is the one Scrooge consults with the most when dealing with Alchemy or anything along the lines of science. Tends to be over-confident at times, especially when creating inventions on the side.

Gizmo (aka Fenton Crackshell): Cyborg duck, due to a near-fatal accident in Duckburg years earlier, saved by the mind of Alchemist Scrooge McDuck and Gyro's hand at cybernetics. Intelligent, physically strong yet timid, Gizmo mainly plays the role as the ship's Master's messenger and bodyguard nowadays, since there is little to no use of accountants while roaming space. He is also assigned the duty of protecting the four ducklings Donald and Daisy care for, and has often helped with their homework. Best babysitter in the world, according to the children.

Scrooge McDuck: Ship's Master and the only Alchemist powerful enough to create the Colonial Space Gems. Scrooge is the Mastermind behind Earth's Colonial Ships. His one desire now is to find a new home for the people of Earth, and to keep the new family he's got safe from any harm. While he is aware of the amount of power he has, Scrooge strays away from using it, still burdened by his past.

Donald Duck: Protagonist and Captain of the Guard aboard The Queen. Donald is one of the few who often joins his uncle on missions, and is the only one who knows of the quadzillionaire's greatest secret. But because of a past event that scarred him for life, Donald and Scrooge slowly grow apart.

Mickey Mouse: Admiral and Leader of Earth's Colonial Ship The Nebula, as well as Donald's best friend and second-in-command aboard The Queen, Mickey is known for his optimism and the Hope he instills in people's minds. He'd rather fight with his bo stick and use his intelligence than use a gun.

P.L.U.T.-0: Mickey's handy robot computer and pet cybernetic dog, Pluto has often proven himself useful when his master is caught in a tight situation. He's also the favorite playmate of the ducklings, due to being the only "animal" they've ever encountered aboard the ship.

Daisy Duck: Daisy is Donald's girlfriend and one of the top nurses in The Queen's Medical Wing. She took it upon herself to raise the children whenever Donald or Scrooge were elsewhere, and remains as the one who wears the pants in her and Donald's relationship. A group of men often need a female touch, and often a good whack across the head!

Webigail Vanderquack: Webby is the five-year-old orphan under the care of Donald and Daisy. She tends to be a bit of a tagalong and nuissance for the triplets, but is the most well-behaved of all four children. She and the boys are very often the only ones who can make Uncle Scrooge smile.

Hubert, Deuteronomy and Louis Duck: Donald and Daisy's nephews, Scrooge's grandnephews and the ship's "Masters-of-everything-cool," Huey, Dewey and Louie are very seldom seen without one another. While well behaved, they enjoy playing tricks on their uncles and sometimes sneak along with them on missions, getting them into trouble. But despite this, they are the three reasons why Donald and Scrooge still get along to a certain extent, and they intend to keep their broken family together.

Magica DeSpell: Magica is the villain of the story, again crossing paths with Scrooge on her hunt for the fabled Philosopher's Stone. But she wants something more this time; something Scrooge will protect at all costs if it means to give his family a second home.

The Beagle Boys: Although well acquainted with Scrooge and the people aboard The Queen, having in the past attempted to steal the Alchemist's money vault, the Beagle Boys have returned not only as henchmen in Magica's plot, but also in the hopes of getting their hands on Scrooge's fortune once and for all.

Man I'm still waiting patiently for this you have no idea. Even if it never gets written, the concept alone sold me.

I know the feeling, I have trouble staying focus for any fanfics I write. I find that the moment I come up with something I need to write before it leaves.

I'm guessing this tragic past event somehow explains Hortense's absence, and is likely Scrooge's fault.

It explains her absence yes, but it was not Scrooge's fault.

Also add Kim Possible and Monique to the Steampunk Ducks characters next time because KP and her friend foil the evil plans of the Beagle Boys.

Awesomely done! I definitely would love to read more about this AU. Although I would've liked a slightly more in depth description on Donald's abilities and personality. Does he still have a temper? Does he still enjoy fighting?Β

Those details are not important to the story so I don't put them in the description.

OK, I've never really been a fan of Magica DeSpell (mostly because I just don't really like witches in general), but I love what you did with her hair and the colors of her dress. Her hair is lose and wavy and her dress is the color of the cosmos.

Kitsune-Craft In reply to beastofinle [2014-10-05 20:34:12 +0000 UTC]

I just don't. It doesn't exist in reality and in fiction I feel it is a bit of a copout. Plus, I've had some bad experiences with witches in the past.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

beastofinle In reply to Kitsune-Craft [2014-10-05 22:06:40 +0000 UTC]

Huh I guess I can get behind that.Β
But in Magica's case, there's more to her character than just her being a witch. But it's hard to look past that, I guess. I mean it's pretty much her main occupation.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kitsune-Craft In reply to beastofinle [2014-10-06 04:48:15 +0000 UTC]

And I understand that. Maybe it wasn't just her occupation, but also her personality that I didn't find appealing. A villain like her works rather well in Duck Tales, but she's not the type of anatagonist I would ever use in my own writing. That's just me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

beastofinle In reply to Kitsune-Craft [2014-10-06 18:43:29 +0000 UTC]

I see where you're coming from. I'm no fan of DuckTales myself: it's the comics that I grew up with and continue to adore to this day.

Kitsune-Craft In reply to beastofinle [2014-10-06 22:21:20 +0000 UTC]

Oh, see I did grow up with the cartoons and still enjoy watching them, but Magica was just never my favorite villain. I just never found her very appealing.

UniversesCollideInc [2013-10-07 11:38:57 +0000 UTC]

I've always liked your Disney Ducks and friends related work but this particular pic really captured my inspiration. You see; I'm planning several mega crossovers involving characters from various worlds coming together and fighting an evil that threatens all of them (with the villains dedicated to helping said evil) and this works for at least one version of a specific variant of said idea, outlined below.

"An organization of beings called Overseers work to insure that each universe under their watch goes as it's supposed to go. This can mean allowing horrible things to happen to characters or nudging a character to do or say something specific. However often once the play-out occurs, the Overseers must then fight their enemies (currently unnamed; suggestions VERY welcome) and to do that, they're going to have to recruit the very characters whose lives they orchestrate. How will they react and what will they do when the villains of the stories appear as soldiers of the enemy side?"

KicsterAsh In reply to UniversesCollideInc [2013-10-07 16:14:22 +0000 UTC]

Although it's a great concept, I would rather you did not use this lineup as references for your story, since they'Re already part of my story lineup.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

UniversesCollideInc In reply to KicsterAsh [2013-10-07 17:19:19 +0000 UTC]

Oh; I'm not using your line up or even your plot. I just like the Sci Fi Aspect and it's a great way to use "royal families" without the royalty thing. What I have planned is a civilization that has been on a giant space station since before anyone currently alive remembers and that within said station, has "city-states" that are "ruled" by at least one "noble" family. Each "city-state" has slightly different rules but in general, there will be at least one family over each one. Hope this clears up my meaning; I'd never steal anyone else's work and this in particular I can't wait to see progress.

And suggestions for the Overseers' enemies' name?

Although I'm a huge fan of Darkwing, I don't know his character well enough to write him in the stories. And since he's never interacted with Scrooge in any way except for the Darkwing/Ducktales comic crossovers, he doesn't fit into this AU.
