I was struggling with this, because I am never good with black colours. I always made them look uninteresting.I tried my best to make it monochrome but my hand is not listening to me.....
I don't think I have any improvements...nor any new colour changes...aaah must try harderrrrr
I really wanted to put in wayang kulit elements into my drawing, they are....shadow puppets. It's very popular in my country.
After many many months I managed to sit down properly and put it in my drawing YAYYIES.

Once again your layout and overall image design is very attractive and professional-lookin'. You're consistently making your pics colorful and I think that's a good thing.
The only thing that stands out to me is his left arm and hand. I reckon the fingers are too long and it doesn't look like it's comfortably holding that sword. It's probably best that you used a reference for that hand since our attention will be drawn to it. As for his arm, I reckon the forearm area could've been bigger to emphasis the foreshortening.
Nothing much apart from that, maybe the pattern on the inside of his coat could be more obscure. It's very defined atm so it sorta stands out as being patterns layered onto the clothe.
That's all I can perceive, I hope that's relevant.

Interesting use of asian elements in the background. Sort of reminds me of buddhist or indian prints. Not sure what the "ai" character is there for. Is it the assassin's name?

here's an idea. if you want to not struggle with blacks.
draw them how you naturally want to draw them. complete with your watery, acid-trip color rainbow. and then greyscale the image. and re color whatever bothers you too much to leave grey.
TRY IT! i liked your color work at first but it's all i see, i agree and admire with your decision to work better at more muted color schemes. i'd love to give you a bottle of ink wash black and just... see what happened in the absence of any color. you could still rock it hard.

Great composition~ Your anatomy skills are amazing, and I think how you color is very nice too! I think it's great the way you are but I suppose there is always room for improvement (:
