Description Let's see, who do we have here...

A "Shadow of the Bat" sketch card featuring Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Batman.
(Yep, this is the first time Nightwing has appeared in my gallery. Every once in a while someone will visit my gallery and ask if I can draw or points out that there's no Nightwing or Deadpool in my gallery... always Nightwing or Deadpool... well this is the first for Nightwing)

Superman
(In his "This looks like a job for" pose)

Rogue & Gambit
(I seem to like drawing the X-Men in regular... well, sorta regular clothing)

Deadpool
(Not the first time he's appeared in my gallery)

A "Gotham City Sirens" sketch card featuring Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn
(I couldn't decide on which one of the three to draw so I drew all three)

Han Solo & Chewbacca

Wolverine

Snake Eyes & Scarlett

Lion O & Cheetara
(Yes, I drew Cheetara with short hair, I hope to draw a larger Thundercats picture if I find the time soon)

These really are terrific! When I first saw them (your sketchcards that is), I was so in love with them that I began an art project in school to make a few sketch cards. Mine are 2 inch by 6 inch cards, but I only do black and white. Is that okay with you that I am doing them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KidNotorious In reply to Max-Malone [2010-05-23 12:08:54 +0000 UTC]

Is it okay with me?
Well, it's not like the sketch card the was a original idea of mine.
There are tons of artist's out there making sketch cards professionally and just for fun.

Max-Malone In reply to KidNotorious [2010-05-23 14:11:02 +0000 UTC]

Okay, haha, I figured I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. But thank you for doing wonderful work and giving me the idea to do sketch cards as well!

Demias123 [2010-05-23 11:23:47 +0000 UTC]

wow, those are all awesome, i love the Deadpool one!!

what type of marker would you recomend for filling in LARGE areas of black and still get a dark fill?
cause Sharpies for me, just dont fill in very dark when doin large areas.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KidNotorious In reply to Demias123 [2010-05-23 11:35:30 +0000 UTC]

I used a Sharpie on these too.
It's kinda hard to use much of anything else and have the cards hold up against it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Demias123 In reply to KidNotorious [2010-05-23 11:53:31 +0000 UTC]

really? cause they dont work well for me lol
its like when i fill in a large, and i mean LARGE area of black, some parts are true black while others are almost like a blue, like the ink didnt come on enough on parts lol

and i tried using a large sharpie, all that did was give me a headache form the fumes lol
would a black Copic or Prismacolor marker do good, maybe let out more ink or have better flow?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KidNotorious In reply to Demias123 [2010-05-23 12:03:49 +0000 UTC]

I use all of the above and boy do I know how horrible those ink fume headaches can be.

I would suggest you try inking with a brush.
I find that when I ink with a brush and a container of ink there's less fumes to deal with and the ink comes out nice and smooth plus you'll be able to try out inkwashing.

Demias123 In reply to KidNotorious [2010-05-23 12:34:39 +0000 UTC]

hmm, i considered that, but id have to practice like mad before i ever went to use it on my comics cause i can bet that can get messy quick lol

least i know it would cover nicely, and be the darkest black i could get

grant it Photoshop does help with a lot of that, but id like to have as much done before i get to photoshop as possible, saves time, specially with my slow computer lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KidNotorious In reply to Demias123 [2010-05-23 12:38:00 +0000 UTC]

Yep, practice does help.
I had to learn pretty quick but luckily I like to paint, it's not much different from that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Demias123 In reply to KidNotorious [2010-05-23 13:53:34 +0000 UTC]

heh, yeah well im a horrible painter lol
thats why im hoping for a marker that has an equal effect, and so far Sharpie has not been working well on that. unless they make a more, not really sure how to say it, like more ink comes out when you brush, so you get a thicker inking spread i guess.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KidNotorious In reply to Demias123 [2010-05-24 08:41:54 +0000 UTC]

Thicker?... once again it just depends on how much you use.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Demias123 In reply to KidNotorious [2010-05-24 15:19:38 +0000 UTC]

well i think im not using the right words, or saying it how i mean it.

but idk, i mean the normal Sharpie does ok for areas like Hair, or Gloves, or smaller areas. but for large things, like a Full Panel, or buildings, with a normal sharpie it would take forever to fill that. And i tried a large sharpie, but i mean it filled the area, and decently quick, but alot of it was like, faded or something idk, wasnt really as dark as even my inking pens can get.

Idk maybe im just not doin something wright or maybe theres other tricks to use. i mean hell i could just break down and use photoshop instead, and just put an "X" on areas that will be black completely lol

Anyway, I can't believe that you use just Prismacolors... to tell you the truth if you wouldn't have already told me, I would have thought that you used Copic markers, due to some of the shadows that blends very well with the underneath color. An effect that until now I can't achieve.

KidNotorious In reply to The-Real-NComics [2010-05-23 11:40:11 +0000 UTC]

Actually I just recently started using a few Copics in my work thanks to a very kind person who sent me some really great ones.
