Description
While streaked LabradorTenrecs are the most common, being popular amongst exotic pet owners, both common tenrec and hedgehog tenrec varieties can be found as well. Though regardless of variety, the LabradorTenrecs spines most closely resemble those of the streaked tenrec. Unlike streaked tenrecs however, LabradorTenrecs don’t use their spines for communication, preferring audible clicks or chirps with no known origin. Their status as common pets is controversial in heavily industrialized areas as they have been known to interfere with radio signals, however little else is known about this phenomenon.
