Masamune Shirow is one of my favourite artists of all time, and definitely an inspiration to me when I first started to draw anime characters. I grew up watching Manga Entertainment VHS; Appleseed, Dominion Tank Police and even M66 Black Magic (The OVA he had actual involvement in producing). He’s mainly know for creating the Ghost in the Shell manga, popularised by the 1995 film by the same name. A trend setter in the cyberpunk genre.

It’s a shame he stopped producing manga in the early 90s and moved to drawing erotic pinups.

Anyway I wanted to emulate his style, so I picked this image and tried to colour it like the original. Hoping something will brush off onto me!
