Description Ok, here is one of the hardest long exposition i did...
located in a church in Ars en Ré, town on the "Ile de Ré" island (see previous shots i submitted)
long exposure 30 seconds, i had to run a lot to avoid getting myself caught in the image.
the lighting was really good inside this church

i hope you like the result, corrected the tone and contrast also...

Ill be honest and say I only use Deviantart to watch pictures, but everynow and then I come across a picture I cannot figure out if its real or not, but I read your comment and you said you had to run alot.. Im a complete noob when it comes to photografs and such... so how is this done? what does a "long exposure" do? I mean.. how come your not actually in that picture ? but the light is.. Totally confused, but definetly a awesome picture!

a long exposure is when you make it so that the camera shutter is longer than usual. usually it would be like half a sec to a tenth of a second for the shutter to open and close. when he did a thirty second exposure the camera shutter closed for 30 seconds letting as much light as it could. so he probably had a light in one hand and ran. however, because his body doesn't give off light he doesn't show up. if you move fast enough, you won't be seen in an exposure

What kind of light was this? A regular flash light or something else? Also, you toned the color of the light? It looks very yellow . Awesome stuff. And a great inspiration. I will try to replicate this effect (so far only got to this: [link] )

Hi. I represent a small Blog (d6ideas.com) and we decided to make a series of picture based micro fictions. To explain that: We take a picture and ask any of our users to interpret it and bring it in a context of pen&paper tabletop roleplay (which our blog is essentially about). Your picture was one which came instantly out to me. I think it would be very well suited for this article series as it is not only stunning but can be interpreted in very different ways. Our blog is non commercial and just a hobby project. Still we want to be on the right side of copyright and this is why I write this.
Is it okay for you if we use your image for said reason? Thanks a lot anyway and keep up the good work.
(if this message seems a bit generic.. yes it is and I will reuse for a couple of other pictures. Still it is true as I choose less then a dozens artworks from over a few hundred pictures. So the flattery I wrote is totally honest!)

thanks for the appreciation of my work... i'm ok that you use the photography on your blog, as long as you dont distribute it elsewhere and keep a copyright near it, maybe if you can, with the link to my personal portfolio : [link]

thanks anyway, and let me know (by note) when the post is blogged

see ya !

very good effect. Another thing i would have done to sort-of gotten that effect, is tie the light source to a string, hang myself on top of the frame, and let loose with the light source with the string. Swinging side to side, in circles, up and down. etc etc. Then you wouldn't have to run.

yes, it's indeed a good idea to achieve circular light swirls...
and i must admit running is quite exhausting
thanks for the input

amazing! just amazing
the "what??" on the left top kind of destroy the symmetrical view, but the light circle on the ground is just great, making it look like something is coming out, or magic forming, or anything of the sorts
great job!!
