Daniel Jackson in the 1994 movie that spawned the Stargate franchise was just a two-dimensional nerd stereotype and kind of a waste of a great actor like James Spader (but then again it's a Roland Emmerich film, his characters at best are memorable when the actors manage to inject their charisma in them, like Will Smith did). But in the TV show SG-1, which I began to watch... Holy crap.
Daniel becomes the polar opposite, he went from zero to hero, same with the other few characters from the movie that returned and the new ones introduced in the show. It's very solid and I'm enjoying it alot.
...Okay, to be fair, the episode "Emancipation" is more poorly written than the original movie, it seriously makes its writing and romance look like Pride and Prejudice. And it's not even entertaining to insult or get mad at, it's just... Bad.

Still, TV show Daniel Jackson? Hamana, hamana, hamana...

BTW, I actually don't hate movie!Daniel at all, if anything he actually ended up inspiring the look and characterization of an OC of mine years later after this post lol
