A temperate world orbiting the K type star Namatimaa in the Norma Arm, trailing of the Onsian Empire, Vatarr is the homeworld of the hoaruuc and the Hoaruuc Confederation. Its host star is fairy massive and bright for a K type, allowing Vetarr to orbit in the habitable zone far enough away to not be tidally locked. Vetarr completes an orbit in 156 days (about 23 local days), and is orbited by one moon, Rudrra.

Its size and mass are all very close to Earth, but with a lower gravity. Its climate is fairy temperate with a single season year round due to a very low axial tilt and nearly circular orbit, with a cool but temperate climate and a fairy sense atmosphere rich in oxygen. Its four continents are, due to a reduced tectonic activity, somewhat flat after many millions of years of erosion, with vast open seas of reddish grass overlooked by lone mountains and plateaus. Due to its oxygen rich atmosphere, wildfires are fairy common and an an essential part of the natural cycle. In addition, the oxygen rich air and low gravity allows insects to grow much larger, but their smaller, termite-like cousins are are the ones who dominate the landscape, building many thousands upon thousands of towering mounds in the open grasslands.

The sapient hoaruuc's main food supply are these mounds, the species having built a civilization revolving around their fortress cities lead by the semi-religious group known as the Maani. These cities have grown since first contact from large but primitive fortresses into modern metropolises, although at its core the planet remains an untamed wilderness peppered by massive insect mounds and the ruins of the the many cities annihilated by the Crusades waged by the maani.
