If you're attending Sydney's Animania 2004 and would like to buy an A3 print of this, please feel free to leave a message so I can get an idea of how many copies I should make
. Thanks~The title is kind of random, actually... I was just looking through my playlist because I have a bad mental blank, and I don't want it to sound cheezy ._.. Cowboy Bebop music kicks ass~!

[edit 3]: Fixed up his face a bit. His hair kind of doesn't look Sasuke enough-ish though :/
Who?: Uchiha Sasuke from Masashi Kishimoto's "Naruto". Yeah, he looks older. But I have trouble drawing kids ._.. And older Sasuke is teh sex~!
What?: All photoshop 6, including the original sketch. Wacom Graphire 2.
Time?: Oh, jeebus... I don't know. A long time. Probably around the 24 hour mark all up. I did it in lots of bits and pieces

Blahness: Hmm.. the fact that nothing immediately comes to mind must be a good thing. I think something might be off about his shoulders, and I had to fix up his head a lot...
Stuff I'd like people to tell me is crap or not/need fixiness: I don't know if the shdow looks right. I think it extends out too much on the bottom. If the wall needs some proper cracks, instead of just grunginess. And if there's anything wrong with Sasuke that I could conceivably fix without redrawing heaps of crap... Also, the positioning of the Uchiha symbol~
Yes, the background is sneekingly appropriated from Sasuke's recent Itachi flashback scenes XD. Although built mostly from scratch except the outline of the rocks and Uchiha symbol. You know, I just realised that Uchiha is a really corny pun on 'Uchiwa', which is a japanese fan ;o. How corny is that.... Anyway. Now that I think about it the title is rather more suiting than I thought when I picked it. Poor Sasuke 'snif'. He was such a damn cute kid! That little Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu was so cute, but sad
. And then Itachi has to be an evil (sexy) bastard and ruin his whole childhood. I'm sure he'd want it all back if he could, but, unfortunately for him, nothing's going to bring back his family. I think it'll be horribly tragic when he finally kills Itachi, because he may finally realise that revenge isn't a sustainable life goal. You kill someone, and then what? What are you going to do with the rest of your life?Hmm, oh well. I like how it came out~

I love it. It has a few details, but overall it's lovely. And impressive. And Sasuke XDDD. Gotta love the way you portrait him a bit more "realistic" than more fans... it's asian, you can see it in his features. Good job, VERY good. Wish one day I could draw (and colorize) like you. Congrats!!!

Very pretty, though I believe with the position of the head and face, his hair shouldn't be sticking out to the side as much. Moreso it needs to look like it's from the back.

Hee, he looks smexy in this picture. And wow, it's amazing. I totally love the background, especially how the fan is smudged/coming off. And you even remembered his cursed seal... wow, I'm in awe :3. Hmm... his hand seems a little off, but that may just be me. Anyway. This is, as I've said, totally amazing. I love your colouring and style, ect... definately a +fave from me.

The most interesting part of this drawing for me, as a Naruto fan, is the placement of the Kunai. I BELIEVE thats what they are called, I have never seen them like that before, but it looks great. However, I think the hair should have been angled farther back, and up, and possibly a darker shadowing below his chin. Also, I think A) his jaw line doesn't follow through far enough, or his neck is too thick. I saw you wanted advanced critiqueing, I hope this helps. BTW, GREAT JOB, I like it a lot, the coloring is great, and it's now a favorite of mine.

Wow, this really is incredible! I've always been a fan of your artwork, a blend between anime style and realism (and you manage to maintain perfect balances between both styles).
Shame that I won't be at Australia during the Animania 2004 (I've actually never been to any of these convention and events)...I would love to go, but I'm stuck in California for awhile. Hiss.

This is such a lovely picture, and with a sweet title too T_T. His costume design is very cool and is detailed without looking cluttered. The colouring is great, especially the fan on the wall (it mimics the fading paint look really well) although the use of grunge brushes on the left hand side looks a bit over-done. The grunge looks appropriate towards the bottom and gives the impression it's an old and badly-cared-for stone wall, but from about the halfway point upwards it looks like someone has splashed watery ink across the wall, and also that for some reason they've only targeted the join between the two stone panels. Having the texture spreading further across the left panel might make it more realistic, since a flat wall like that would probably be stained more evenly and not just at the ends. Also, if the marks on the left side were at a lower opacity and slightly blurred, they'd look less like recently splashed ink (I think the weather would fade marks on the wall until they aren't so distinct). The smudges on the rest of the wall look good.
His face looks a bit squashed, but I can't tell whether that's a problem with the anatomy or just that this is the first time I've seen him realistically Asian. It's nice to see him in a different style to what most people attempt

No problem
Instead of trying to find a large enough brush, you might find it easier to use texture layers. The image section of google is a great place to look – just search for stone or something similar, and you'll hopefully find some pictures of a flat stone texture. A lot of these pictures are only the size of a small square, and hence wouldn't be useful for covering a whole wall, but you can copy-paste the squares together in photoshop and fix the joins until you get a large slab of stone.
Or, if you're having trouble finding some, I'd be happy to send you a file of the ones I've collected.
I don't use the textures at 100% opacity, since they don't match the colouring of the rest of the picture that well, but if you experiment with lower opacities and different layer settings (eg: colour overlay) they can add subtle texture without looking out of place.

Nicely done! shading and concept both. the lighting is nice, the shirt logo thing iss real cool ^_^ the only thing that bothers me is the nose. It's well done, it just doesn't look sasuke to me. Too priggy. I like the eyes, and the overall facial expression.

Can't really see anything about this picture that I think should've been changed. I'm a bit curious about how he's supposed to use those throwing knives, though.

*~* Ahhh... That is an INSANE amount of detailing. But completely worth it since--THAT IS A MIGHTY FINE CRACK YA GOT THERE. O.O *oggles* XD It's all very, very well done and detailed to the point of insanity (I don't know HOW you did it.), and the only things I can find the teeniest problems with are his nose and his hair... His nose looks a bit too short, even from the angle it's drawn from; and his hair is a little bit too far out to the right--I think it should be in a bit more. << >> But, I wouldn't go trying to change those things NOW. ._.
