Mostly everyone is "privileged" in America, honestly. And I think people are more "privileged" based on their monetary wealth a whole lot more than their skin tone or anything else related to appearance, which I'm starting to notice more and more recently.

sure, there's a lot of different forms of privilege out there. class privilege is real, thin privilege is real, attractive privilege is real to a degree though i don't consider it or thin privilege even REMOTELY comparable to white privilege and class privilege. those two last issues are more societal than institutional, though there are situations in which they show up institutionally (for example: fat women are less likely to receive the medical treatment they need and deserve than thin women, it is assumed that any and all medical problems we could endure are due to us being fat when that is just factually not the case. fatness is not some powerful disease and weight loss does not cure all.)
but that doesn't make white privilege any less real, or backed up by facts and american (global, really - but let's focus on america since that's where i live) history.
the fact that whatever "third world country" that could be on your mind right now "has it worse" speaks to absolutely nothing regarding our own country's problems. problems still exist here, SERIOUS-ass problems. and one of those problems is, white people have it GREAT on the axis of race. we are not doubted as human beings, we are in fact considered the standard of humanity as far as race goes. european features are the standard of beauty. we have never been prevented from voting (excluding POOR whites, which is a class issue. they were prevented from voting for being POOR, not for being WHITE.), we are not demonized as criminals and thugs by the media, we didn't suffer years of chattel slavery (yes, yes, irish slaves, blah blah, etc - that wasn't CHATTEL slavery) and sharecropping, we didn't suffer any equivalent of jim crow, or racial segregation (we greatly benefited from segregation LOL we got all the good shit while, even when "separate but equal" was the law, black americans got roughly jack and shit), like... the list goes on and on. white privilege is real, it is not a theory or an opinion anymore.
class privilege does not have to be the one prevailing "true" privilege, as serious as it is (speaking as someone who grew up in SEVERE financial troubles), because, uh... no, white privilege exists, so does male privilege, cis privilege, straight privilege, and the list goes on. citing class privilege just to shut down discussions of white privilege is a wee bit shitty of people.
and i'm here to say class privilege does NOT erase other privilege. i may have been in a poor situation as a kid, but i was still white. and i still had white privilege, i can remember very clearly what that felt like. privileges and disadvantages intersect, and nothing cancels each other out. the fun part of this discussion is having the nuance to understand all of this simultaneously.Β

Well, in a time and circumstances yes. Though I wouldn't say it's real recently since my boyfriend was literally dying in the hospital room about his scoliosis and the doctors let black people with minor stuff in there before him. It got so bad that they just left to go to another hospital.

white privilege is far from the only privilege to exist. we've got able-bodied privilege, rich privilege, male privilege, cis privilege, neurotypical privilege - all kinds of things, and all these things intersect with each other differently. life in terms of privilege and oppression as a gay black man would be different from life as a trans white woman, both people have privileges and disadvantages.
however, what you've described with asians is called benevolent racism. reducing a race to "docility" and "harmlessness" is not giving that race privilege, it is stereotyping them.
similarly, i have not seen much evidence that women are becoming a "protected" class. can you explain what that means exactly?

but until women are no longer inherently taken less seriously than men, until women are no longer seen as hysterical and irrational by doctors (ESPECIALLY when they're fat) - and thus not given the diagnoses and treatments that they need, until women are no longer seen as sex objects and romantic prospects before human beings, until women are depicted as inherently less complex and deep than men, etc, etc (the list truly goes on for DAYS), i doubt i'll think women are a privileged group, much less over men xD
