I knocked on her door.
“It’s open” Her voice was softer than usual.
Stepping in, I saw apple by the mirror, she’d just woken up, still in her pajamas. She looked so, different. I’d never seen Apple when she wasn’t in full-princess mode, living up to all her expectations, taking command and being the leader she’s destined to be. But here, now, brushing her hair and still sleepy, she looked beautiful, she really was the fairest of them all.
“Oh! Hi Darling! What brings you by? Is everything alright?” Apple tilted her head and smiled that loving and genuine smile she always has.
She’d known I’d been avoiding her, come on Darling, out with it, tell her everything that’s been rolling through your mind, tell her that you’ve not been able to hocus focus on anything, tell her. I could feel my face begin to flush.
“Yeah, Apple, everything is alright, I was just wondering, do you have a copy of our Princessology homework, I… I lost mine”
