Constructed quickly after the development of the Ambassador class, the Olympian class starship boasted a significantly more condensed spaceframe, featuring one continual hull unlike the majority of starships before it. the Olympian was moderately successful, however much like the Ambassador the Olympian and her components were quickly phased out in exchange for the new Galaxy type systems featured on the starships such as the New Orleans, Nebula, Springfield, etc. the fleet of Olympian, Ambassador, and other ambassador component using starships were still constructed for a short period of time, giving them a sizeable fleet which would remain in service until (for the majorty of the vessels) the Dominion War.
