December 2019, somewhere in Spain an amateur photographer and astronomer posted this photo online. Soon, they posted another image on a private board website showing the 'object' that looked like a meteor from afar. Soon after the government took down the entire site because they refused to remove the photos. Smaller websites started to spread the photos soon after and Nasa posted the full meteor shower photo without the extra context photo, which was when a small independent Canadian space news website picked it up. The "Mickey Mouse, WTF?" image soon became an internet meme and accounts talk about sightings of graffiti displaying the text all around the world.
