So we were hanging out in the guild that will remain nameless, but now we have Pollvolution so it's all right now. We were in the "Suggest a song to the person above you" thread, and someone suggests "Herr Dosselmeyer's Doll" by Abney Park to me. It was on YouTube, and it had Princess Tutu as the visuals. [link] We all decide a steampunk clockwork ballerina would be the coolest thing ever.
I love it, and I announce I'm going to make a steampunk ballerina avatar inspired by it. Half an hour later I give up. Pineapple asks if she can try. She comes up with this in ten minutes.

This was done in Gimp. It was my first attempt at using gimp, and I had to figure out the brushes.
It's an interesting effect, and while I like it, it's so different from my usual work (in terms of shading, the inking and basic drawing is all the same) I hope that Pineapple is as pleased with it as I am.
