Description
Brainard Lake, Colorado is quite the awesome place. It seems every time I am there it is just an excellent experience and this time was no different. Photographed between passing storms at sunset, I really wanted to get the movement of the clouds so I decided to experiment some and use 2 stacked ND8's along with my CPL to really slow the shutter down a lot. This is the end result.I really need to get back here again soon. Love it up here!

Amazing. Did you edit this at all? No insult intended, just rarely do you see colors like that come from nature so vividly. I absolutely love it.

nice capture, but the magenta is too much for my sensitive eyes.

The water behind the shrub is in a very bright blue shade, looks (un)natural.

I am starting to understand why you all (the most dedicated photographers, I mean) use the ND filter... I have seen purple skies but never anything like this.
One question: how do you know the type of filter you'll need? Because the ND filters are DAMN expensive!!!!

well, there are 2 types, there are Grad NDs and then there are NDs. It all depends how long you want teh exposure for and that also reflects in price. Mine weren't so much, 10- is all

I think I took a look at regular ND filters and boy, were they expensive!!! I was searching for a 77mm filter and soon realized that it costed way too much.

Great shot! Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park is almost a twin for this shot. The Rockies are fabulous.
