This is Mikiro, again, but this time drawn by me. ~catrin asked me to draw another in the style of the Emmi Portrait picture, and this is sort of what came out.

Miki is my street rat kiddo. When he is young, not only is he picked on for having magic because in the city where he lives, there is a strong bias against magic users. In addition to that, he is also small, homeless, and cannot control his magic--the gloves are part of that, lack of control over the earth elements, which means he heals anyone when he touches them, something that could get the shit beaten out of him and drains him considerably. By the time he reaches his late teens, though, he has (most) of his magic under control and decides to take out a bit of the anger and bitterness that have built up over the years.
