Description
The world on which the Circle Sea lies is a circular, slightly convex mass of rock and earth floating through the void. The world serpent lies coiled around it, keeping it from falling apart and the oceans from draining into nothingness. Atop the world sits the sky dome, created by the fay who first colonized it, on which moon, sun and stars perform their daily dance. Between the rock and the sky lies the Circle Sea, and all the lands surrounding it. For the last five centuries, these lands have been ruled by the Exalted Empire, a forged by human ingenuity and ruthlessness. Its golden age has recently been cut short when the newly proclaimed Orc King strangled the Emperor over the Radiant Throne and led his fellow slave-soldiers into a bloody revolt. Now, war and famine plague every corner of the Empire, it's vassal states braking off one by one, religious infighting tearing apart its magnificent cities, all while a child sits powerlessly on the throne. Behind this surface chaos even more sinister forces are stirring. Strange cults are coming out of hiding, ever more frequent earthquakes are levelling towns and cities, and some terrible force is driving the dwarves from their mountain homes.
