Obviously inspired of the well-known phrase, "The batting of wings of a butterfly can cause a storm in a place on the other side of the Earth".

ohh, i have had this picture in my favorites for awhile now, but i decided i would take a another inspection on it again. i think the picture is absolutley beautiful, and i was so focased on the main draw of the picture that i never even noticed the background. but i do understand what you mean, my friggin scanner pisses me off with its damn scanning abilitlities. i can't even scan images larger than regular printer paper!!
I will have a capable scanner one day...ONE FRIGGIN DAY!!!!
anyways enough of my complaints, i was wondering what you used to color this picture, i know that you used oil based markers for your id and i was also wondering where you could find some. i have scoured the craft store from top to flippin bottom and nothing i need is ever there.
but once again i love your work, it is rather sad, yet whimsical, and very inspiring. i plan on exploring your style of drawing a bit more when i am done, with my curront eploration of another style. the one im working on now is a pain in the ass but i still have fun using it.

I used coloured pencils and alcohol-based markers, actually. You will find those in art stores, just ask the salesperson, they should be able to show you. They're usually sold by the piece, sometimes as packs too. The most widely distributed brand in here are Trias, but that can be different depending on the country you live in.

The blue just glows, and I was so enchanted by the eyes I had not noticed the background - until you mentioned it...
Stop drawing attention to the weak parts of the picture, let the painting speak for itself...

I really enjoy this picture. Although I would have guessed maybe you used watercolor. Awesome to know that you did it with marker. Please use more blue in some of your other work. It is gorgeous. I love that it balances and gives a softness to the black. Wonderful shading. Even though it is blue it has a strong gothic feel to it. Her face is lovely.

wait? so u colored this with colored pencils or pastels and then photo shopped it? i never would have figured that lol. i've done some paintings(that could never top this! XD mine still look like a 3rd grader did them!) and was hoping to scan them in, but i don't know how that would work out.
