Description I have been trying to capture the beauty of soap bubbles, for about 5 years now. Every time I try to take a soap bubble photo, it comes out different. Mostly, this is dew to the fact that I have an absolute zero budget: as with most of my photos, all of which you see here, were made DIY, with stuff readily found around the house (other than the camera and lens).

For the light, I used a single clamp light, with a piece of tissue paper, as a simple softbox. I positioned the light so it was as close to the bubble as possible, and directly above the field of view of my lens. The soap/water mixture was 1 part soap, to 10 parts water.

I ended up using a wire-coat-hanger, mended into the shape of a circle; to provide a flat soap plane.

The camera I used was my 8mpxl Canon 350d. The lens was my Sigma 105mm F2.8 macro. ISO was between 800-1600(max). Aperture was F8-11.
