Description
The reason for the "kind of, sort of" part is because it's not really a Baby Boom pic in the traditional sense it starts off with a fairly normal pregnancy that just so happen to go Baby Boom by the end from Harmony's perspective. Also couldn't come up with a title to best describe this since I had two messages being send off, one being that balance is key to gymanstic, and second, teamwork makes the dream work. The first 3 panels, Melody and Harmony are practicing for the mother/daughter gymanstic competition. Melody teaching her daughter a very important lesson in that balancing the most important part of gymanstic and is what the audience is looking at out of a gymnast, but Harmony is a little scare since she have to balance on her mother's foot, on one leg only. It went well, but Harmony is starting to have second thoughts about it considering the pressure of performing such acts like that in front of a crowd of people. Melody assure her that everything will be fine and she have her and Manik's genes so she'll be fine.
The fourth panel is a time jump of around seven years with her and Tony now being the dynamic duo of the gymanstic world (What? You thought she stop over a little pregnancy weight?). Harmony is practicing her balance since she's now in the same position her mom was seven years ago. Not as real as her mother's, but still enough to be an obstacle for her to overcome, and with the help of Tony, Harmony manage to be her gymnast rival, Emily, for who can hold their balance the longest, but Harmony, like Melody seven years ago, isn't playing around this time, she's here to win and winning she'll get.
And yes, seven years later, Harmony and Tony are still wearing their childhood gymanstic attire. Clearly the two are too big for those old clothes, but it's not like they make their job any harder. Harmony's pregnant belly is actually doing her a favor by making her shirt not fit her enough to give a little extra breathing room for her.
And as a fun easter egg, Harmony's pose in the first and fourth panel are the same, but in reverse. Just wanted to show two different side of Harmony from two different point in time.
