Description
The RiftQuick job in Terragen and Photoshop. Rendered a little larger than I usually do - 3200x2400 instead of 2800x2100 - so I think quality improved somewhat. The name comes from the focus at the center, where the sun seems to be permeating through clouds and forcing them away. This piece had minimal postwork aside from the border and some sharpening, all the colors and such were in Terragen. Midwinter vacation is coming up in about a week, expect some more new stuff then.

despite its uber cool ownage...i can only find one MINOR problem, even thought i love this work with every part of my being, i cant get the suns reflection out of my head

You shouldn't divide your image into halves with the horizon. It's a compositional no-no.

nice nice, but one problem is the reflection on the water..... the sun is very detailed and clear in the water...but on the sky its blurred......lol i dont think its supposed to do this.....bu most people wont notice this, anyhow, i love the colors ! hehe nice render btw

Wow! Blue! Blue! Blue!
I love the lighting effects! The only lighting thing that seems unnatural to me is the reflection of the sun.
It just seems a little too sharp to be a reflection of what is seen in the sky. I understand that water makes a darker reflection...
but I think the sun should be a little more blurred (can't think of a better word) in the reflection.
But I still love the piece!

It's a bit of a shame about the edges on some of the silhouette's, the highlights seems a little too sharp. Still not a bad enough problem to make this anything less tha awesome!

The pixelated look to the silhouettes and reflections detracts from the piece, as well as the gradient edge to beams of light. The colours in the clouds are beautiful, but the clouds themselves need a little more depth. Overall, though, very nice render.

well, I hope you don't mind, but I want to be honest... I don't like this piece =/ the landscape is way too oversharpened, and those hard peaks and the general shape look just unnatural. there is no detail in the shadows and the clouds look very smeared and lack depth.....

There's some real quality terragen in this piece. Especially in the softness and depth of the clouds, on a technical point they must have greatly increased your waiting time
