Collab with oh... my GOODNESS! I'm so so sorry I was late on this one, silver ;A;I actually didn't realize I had this until I rummaged through my art folder skdlfjk
But think of the bright side! It's finally done with a nice style, eh? ^u^

Best part of thw picture - truck. good lighting, shading. Sonic looks like out of the picture, like was copy pasted there, no offense, but for me it's true. Lightning in him may look fine at first but later it's reveals to be akward.
On your other pictures there are also alot lighting errors, but they are well hiden

Thank you for your criticisms, but if you're going to criticize me objectively, may you also write on how to improve it rather than just saying how it's awkward?
I'm fully aware I don't always follow the light source actually, I shade and color in anime style. It's why I don't want Sonic to look too realistic/colorful here, it would ruin the anime feeling otherwise O:
Also, may you define what's hidden by "special effects"? There's a bunch of special effects in the book, I'm not too sure which effect you mean.. XD You also act as if it were a bad thing to add, which kinda confuses me in a way since I wasn't trying to hide anything

IMHO, the problem here is that Sonic has just plain colours with no highlights, minimal shadind and minimal details, and the background is very detailed with flowers on the bushes and windows on the faraway houses. It looks like the background is a detailed photo, the truck is taken from another picture with nice gradients and Photoshop filters and Sonic is taken from a third picture with just plain colours.

Just remember that faraway objects have less details and objects that are closer to the viewer have more, because we naturally can't see small details at the distance.
