I really like this photo, i love closeups of awesome lil animals. Now as for a lil critique, i think using a focal length of 300mm, you might want to have gone with a faster shutter speed. I think dropping down the aperture a few f-stops and that alone would give you a faster shutter speed.
I have a lens that goes to 300mm and i know that all too well
