Description Hey, everyone, here is another character ref from my project "Jungle Milo in the Doldrums". This time it's of the Letharigan Pythons, or just one of them.

Here is the information that you need to know about the Lethargian Pythons...

The Lethargian Pythons are incredibly lazy, letharic and slimy pythons who live in the Doldrums, a dark, slimy swamp located deep in the Jungle of Wisdom. The Doldrums is a slimy place where there is green-ish slime covering the trees, rocks and ground. The slime is sticky and even sticky enough for someone to get stuck fast. However, the Lethargian Pythons never get stuck in the sticky slime.

The Lethargian Pythons spend most of their time daydreaming, dawdle, delay, dillydally, linger, loiter, loafing, lounging, sleeping, napping and doing nothing in the Doldrums and they prefer it that way. The Lethargian Pythons don't normally think or laugh and they often sleep on top of each other (Which they don't mind at all) and they mostly hardly ever stay awake, in fact, if in conversation with them, if one Lethargian Python falls asleep in mid-sentence or while talking, another Lethargian Python will continue the conversation. The Lethargian Pythons are not hostile creatures, in fact, they do not eat or constrict anyone who comes into their home nor do they mind anyone coming.

The Lethargian Pythons are quite long in length (Around the same length as 1967 Kaa) and their bodies are made from the same type of slime that is found in the Doldrums, because of this, the Lethargian Pythons are often slimy and sometimes melt. However, their bodies are partially soid as well so they don't melt completely and their coils are quite warm, soft and snug for anyone who is in them. The Lethargian Pythons have two physical appearances (Both of which are based on Kaa's appearances in the First and Second Encounter of the 1967 Jungle Book) and they speak in slow-sounding and sleepy voices with pronounced hisses.

The Lethargian Pythons also have the infamous ability to use hypnosis on anyone, their hypnosis sends anyone into an incredibly lazy, sleepy and hypnotized state until they fall into a deep slumber. The Pythons' hypnotic swirls are coloured faded colors of red, yellow and green.

Whenever someone is in the Doldrums, they will offer them a chance to stay for a while. The Lethargian Pythons proceed to use their hypnosis on that certain someone and even sing their infamous song "Don't Say There's Nothing to Do in the Doldrums" which is a sleepy, slow, hypnotic and lulling song in which they sing about their ways in the Doldrums such as dawdling, loithering, loafing and lounging and "Gathering their strength to start anew" on all of the loafing and lounging they have left to do while proceeding to coil and play with their hypnotized visitors. Afterwards, the Pythons' visitors would proceed to sing along with them for the remainer of the song before they are coiled up and settle into a deep slumber.

Whoever is in the Doldrums doesn't stay trapped there forever as the Lethargian Pythons let them leave whenever they like. Sometimes, whoever stays in the Doldrums sleeps there for quite some time, maybe even hours but never for a number of days or even more.

The Lethargian Pythons have never encountered humans before as humans never ventured into the Jungle of Wisdom let alone the Doldrums. However, all that changed when Milo, a young jungle boy who had been found and raised by a pack of wolves at a young age was out exploring his Jungle home until he became drowsy and wandered deep into the Jungle not paying attention where he was lured by the voices of the Pythons and ended up in the Doldrums.

Upon meeting the Lethargian Pythons, Milo was startled by the unusual creatures at first and was confused by their unusual ways until he got to know them and eventually became friends with them. Afterwards, the Lethargian Pythons offer Milo the chance to stay with them for a while which he agreed to and when Milo asked them "If you can't laugh, or think, what CAN you do in the Doldrums?" they answer his question in the form of their song while proceeding to hypnotize Milo and play with him. Afterwards, Milo adjusted to the Lethargian Pythons' "Rich and productive life" and proceeded to join in with their song as the Pythons coiled him up in layers of coils and settle into a deep slumber.

Since then, Milo has been a good friend with the Lethargian Pythons and even visits them in the Doldrums whenever he feels like not doing anything and he even meets the Lethargian Pythons out in the Jungle of Wisdom. During their interactions, Milo would play with the sleepy Pythons' long bodies, let them coil him and hypnotize him and even sleeps with them.

The Lethargian Pythons have been known to hypnotize and lull any animal, however, they have never managed to hypnotize and lull Tickloo the Watch-Bear and Tockheera the Watch-Panther as the two do not like wasting or killing time.

So, that's the info on the Lethargian Pythons.

I hope you all like this picture of the Lethargian Python and I'll try and make more pictures soon if I can, I hope.

Drawn by me .
The Lethargian Pythons are based upon the Lethargians from the Phantom Tollbooth movie by Chuck Jones and based on the book by Norton Juster and Kaa the Python from Walt Disney's The Jungle Book loosely based on the novel by Rudyard Kipling.
