I'm currently trying to build it, but I'm kind of confused about where the extra hair pieces go. I tried looking at the photos you had taken of the finished Crona, but I can't really tell from the angles...

Oh the extra hair pieces aren't that hard to place. You just need to place them horizontally at the sides of his head. ^_^
