the child as achilles, his foot, complete with the spiral of eternity, holding the promise to be able to crush the head of the serpent but bitten by the same - seems to be holding pedally a lemniscate, the magicians belt, his eyesfixed forward, his hand holding the tail of the serpent... the tail of...
tyger, tyger burning bright....
got the tiger by the tail.
his arm locked in hyperflex to point 'the way'
"i pointed at the stars and all you did was look at the end of my finger"
man's eyes fail him everytime.
'jesus was running up a hill into the desert countries like a madman chased by lions. 'why are you running? there is nothing behind you?!', asked a passerby. 'i am running to escape the minds of men!' replied jesus as he fled over the brow.' - sufi proverb
the small star within the moon, in gold no less! a memory of the golden age when saturn ruled the days and the days were endlesss springtime... mists rist and the face of god brooded over the deep.
the woman's hair, a female solomon, safety in the chaos of tangled trestles patterns in the lines, like maps, leading us home...
all paths lead to rome.
she goes forward with her eyes closed, the female force within us all, sleeping, sleeping, but moving forward. sight without eyes. the heart is a woman, the godess in our chest.
vasco de gama never had it so good.
"and before them went an angel..."

Very nice. I really like it (hehe, I am a new mother so I can relate).
It inspires me to paint a picture of my daughter and me.

beautiful and symbolic as usual. i love that red(not too crazy about the purple "cringes"). interesting the way the baby leads and the woman has her eyes closed. and also what is that thing in his foot? a thread? a whip?

You've certainly come a long way, Danny. The colors in this are incredible, and the hair is stunning. I like the markings on the baby's foot, too, and the wisdom he possesses in "pointing the way," as an infant. Awesome work, as always.

Oh wow... just... beautiful colors... and the focus... being almost off the page... it makes me tense but in a good way... it involves you... you know, you really should look into having some of these available in print.
The way that you can tell the exact position and posture of the baby just by his arms and legs without actually seeing his body is both clever and quirky. I love it.

great painting again. you are a real master! the hair must have cost you nerves, i guess. so much work in it. i really appreciate it, though i am still waiting for an instruction-manual to your art. (hehe, just joking)

Holy shit. How on earth do you produce such vast ammounts of A++++++++++ quality work? You are my hero. I always love your use of color, but this one really leaves me wanting all of those colors on my head. I want to be one with the colors.

Holy shit! This is amazing! The colours, the composition... their facial expressions and the intricate details. You are very gifted... Nothing like what I've ever seen before. This actually reminds me of a somewhat modern version of the Rennaisance paintings, what with the style of your painting and everything...
Great work!

I wish I knew the story behind this amazing image! The colors, imagery make me think of female, motherly theme as well as a timeless feeling (perhaps due to the almost infinity symbol at the bottom right) and it really peaks my interest...
what can I say that hasn't already been said? Simply a masterpiece, as always & this one truly stands out as a best

Very interesting picture, but i cannot totally see what you are trying to portray exactly, but i can see the creativity and originality of this piece. Overall, i think the painting is a job well done. The color combination is good too but i might not have colored the pyramids purple.

This piece is certainly above and beyond the norm for non-commercial art on the internet- very nice indeed.
Your style reminds me of some tarot card art I've seen. The mystic influence works well with the maternal theme in the piece. Your brush technique is cohesive throughout, and the fleshtones are probably excellent on the original (scanners play hell on paintings, I know). The composition is strong. The crescent moon in the sky balances the piece and the almost overwhelming red hair. The pyramid in the back is similar to the pyramid in Thomas Cole's "the Architect's Dream," my personal favorite painting. If you're interested, it's at the Toledo art institute museum in Ohio.
Because you seem to be a serious artist, you can take some criticism as well. My biggest problem with the piece is that your light source is really vague. You could've defined it from any different direction to create a variety of moods. The flying head in the background would've worked for a general source on the two figures, maybe without even effecting the moon. Also, the anatomy of the mother figure enveloped in hair is a little sketchy. I'm not sure where the neck ends and the shoulders and torso begin. It's okay to take a little liberty with a figure every now and then, everybody does. In my opinion it may be a bit much, but the piece doesn't really suffer because of it.
I Hope that this is in some way helpfull. I'd hate to see you submitting serious work here and not getting any constructive criticism. I look forward to your future submissions.
