MALEFICENT
Angelina Jolie, The Mistress Of All Evil

In early 1959, one of Disney's most treasured classic animated films, Sleeping Beauty was released. While the story mainly focused around the three fairies, this story should be more focused on our lovely villain and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turned her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora (Elle Fanning) is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

To rephrase, compared to the 1959 classic, is that we learn
Maleficent herself used to be a fairy. and how turned so evil that led her to curse the infant Princess Aurora. This is the story of how a once-good fairy became the “Mistress of All Evil”.

The story we know so far in the animated film, she threw her temper tantrum because she did not get invited to Aurora’s birthday party. Whereas in the upcoming the movie, we are ready to find out her side of the story.

In the second trailer with the narrator, we see comparisons of both films, as well as some new ones. Scenes where we see Aurora and Maleficent together. We assume Aurora is not known of who this dark lady truly is. But either way, this film (based off the trailers) looks to be fantastic!

The film comes to theaters May 30th 2014; rated PG, for for sequences of fantasy action and violence, including frightening images.
