I have stored the sample behind multiple sealed glass walls for observation purposes. Of course I have taken the necessary precautions in the event at a break out attempt. This mostly includes electrocution, incineration, gassing, and compression. When feeding, it seems to have an appreciation for salmonid eggs. Will have to harvest more from Quint's brood...

I have made considerable progress. The sample is capable of intelligent conversation and learning. Incredible. Even if it's primary speech pattern revolves around how it'll absorb me and everyone in my facility before moving onto octovalley then inkopolis then the rest of civilization. Funny little thing. It seems to be satisfied with the regular egg however...

I have taken to calling the sample Klaus. Better than calling them the sample. Besides, it seems to prefer being referred to as a being. Perhaps it has a superiority complex. Will have to test. My daughter has taken a certain curiosity to it as well. Aria seems to enjoy asking it questions about itself...

Due to Klaus' good behavior, I have opted to retrofit an octarian craft for them to ride. Of course, I've implemented the necessary protections to ensure it doesnt escape. I replaced it's weapon with an old claw machine hand. Why? Because it's funny of course. That and it keeps him from trying to wield weapons.
