You can use .psd files in GIMP. During the installation, you have to do the Custom Installation, and put a checkmark in the box by .psd and .abr files, so you can open files and brushes made for PhotoShop in Gimp. There's a tutorial for the brushes here: [link]

Thanks man, however there are simply photoshop styles (ASL files). You can made one of this text effect just clicking on a Style (asl file).
