Description
A remake of an old drawing, see here: kopa3000.deviantart.com/art/Wh…I decided to revisit the story that goes with this picture, too, to see how much I've improved my writing from 2011 to now. Here goes nothin'~
----
It was late evening. Simba had just passed his judgement on Kovu, who now wandered the land as an aimless rogue. He walked and walked until he found himself at the gorge, and as he peered over the edge, he began to wonder why he was there. It was then that Kovu caught a glimpse of two familiar figures; one with a pelt of pure gold and another of deep, dark red. He let out a growl as he recognized the dark lion. Kovu had not spent much time with Scar as a cub, but he had enough to remember what he looked like. Kovu ran toward the lions, heart pounding and mind racing. "He's alive?" he thought to himself. He lost sight of the two lions for a brief moment as dust clouded his vision, but when he reached the cliff area where the two lions were and looked down into the gorge, he saw...nothing? There was no way. He could've sworn there were two lions in this exact spot! He carefully climbed onto the ledge, where Scar had been standing -or at least, where Kovu thought he was. "There must be something here, some scent, tracks, something!" Kovu thought.
What he hadn't noticed was his brother Nuka, who had spotted him a few moments ago.
"This is my chance!" Nuka thought, plastering a twisted smile across his face. He followed Kovu down to the ledge and thought, "Soon mother will see just how strong I am! And if I can get rid of this brat, she'll have to train me! Hahaha! She's gonna love me!".
Kovu felt a sharp blow to his side and slid over the edge of the cliff, just barely catching the ledge with his claws. As he clung to the cliff for dear life, he realized that Nuka was standing above him. "Nuka! Brother! Help me!" He pleaded. For a moment it seemed as if Nuka couldn't even hear him. Suddenly, he darted down into a crouched position, and latched his razor-sharp claws onto kovu's paws. "AGH!" Kovu cried in agony. "Kovu, Kovu, Kovu, Mother's darling little boy. Look where you are now." Nuka snapped, again sporting his malicious grin. "What are you talking about, Nuka? Help me!" Kovu cried. "Now why would I do that?" asked Nuka. "Because You're my brother!" Kovu whined, he felt like his paws were on fire. "Well let me tell you a little secret..." Nuka said, inching closer to whisper into Kovu's ear, "Long live the chosen one".
Kovu's eyes widened as he stared at Nuka in disbelief. "Long live the chosen one!" Nuka screamed, throwing Kovu into the gorge with all his might. He erupted into a fit of laughter. It was over.
