Description
This is one of my second concepts that I actually modeled (ie. I was bored).

For a time, there was talk of the opposing force being aliens, so I came up with this organic concept. One hard part was doing this without looking like a Halo weapon.

The weapon's component layout is actually pretty conventional. Although I guess the aliens have really flexible necks or weird eys for the scope's position. The 'hypodermic barrel' was mostly to have nice aesthetic line. Not exactly practical, but looked nice.

This was the first design where I started using smooth proxies.
It does make for some neat and organic shapes, but you often have to add extra detail in the proxy cages for the smoothed.
This means a bunch of clean-up later.
