A basic drawing of some fan idea that was swimming through my head.

Basically, during the battle against the Archdemon, Cousland deals the final blow while everyone was trying to make sure none of the darkspawn attacked him. However, the shockwave from the kill sent people flying back.
Sadly, Tabris was near the edge as she and the darkspawn she was fighting were pushed off the building by the force. Alistair sees this as he races to the edge to save her, missing by an inch as he watches his love fall down to her death... Basically here's the typed version:

As Cousland ran with the longsword, he quickly ducked under the dragon who tried to stop his final attack. Taking this chance, he used the sword to slice right down the monster's throat, causing much blood to spill out. The Archdemon then fell to the floor, twitching and desperately trying to stand up to continue its fight. Cousland didn't want to give it a chance he raised the sword up, letting out a loud battle cry as he plunged it into the creatures head.
The whole tower began to shake violently as everyone, living and darkspawn, tried thier best to keep their balance. None were ready for the sudden shockwave that came once the dragon had finally died, sending many flying from where they once stood.
Alistair was able to resist the shockwave as he turned to look at Tabris, seeing her fighting against a tall darkspawn. She wasn't prepared nor she didn't sense it as the shockwave caused her to stumble and hit the ledge. The creature did the same as both were sent over. Seeing this, Alistair ran as fast as he could.

Time was slowly going as he reached for the girl's hand that was desperately reaching back for his.

Fingertips brushed just ever so slightly as tears fell from Tabris's eyes.

She mouthed out words that were inaudible to anyone but Alistair as time resumed, making her fall faster to the ground below.

I personally didn't like how Alistair's face turned out (his eyes and mouth mostly -.-) But I'll work on that later when I have the time XD

Alistair is from Dragon Age Origins which belongs to Bioware.
