For those who want to know more about the Ardoven:

Much like the griffon or the hippogriff, the ardoven is of a bird species that walks on all fours. Taking the similarities of a phoenix, the ardoven’s flames change color depending on their emotions (i.e. Red: Anger; Blue: Sadness; Pink: Embarrassment). The ardoven lives in hot climates, typically volcanoes or deserts. Some ardoven civilizations will make their own habitats by digging a pit, congregating whatever flammable material they can find into one big mass, and lighting it on fire.

Although they’re a species that are commonly seen in hot climates, the ardoven only relies on heated atmospheres to rejuvenate their magical energy. The flames surrounding their bodies are magical feathers that act as a flame coat when hot enough. Due to their magical abilities, these flames are unlikely to burn out when making contact with water or any cold material, although the ardoven does have the ability to heat up objects at will by transferring the heat of their bodies into any object they’re grasping. This typically falls in line with swordplay.
