Commander William Thomas Riker of the Enterprise D, First Officer under Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Riker started out a pretty bold and ambitious officer, a bit arrogant and by-the-books, but as time went on he became more confident and reserved as the Enterprise's Second in Command.

Riker was romantically involved with the Ship's Counselor Deanna Troi; the two finally wed shortly, after years of courtship, before Riker accept his own command as Captain of the USS Titan.
