Monsters lived in harmony with human kind for hundreds of years, living on the surface becoming one strong nation.

North, a red husky monster, was born in a loving family, her mom (Arctic) was training to be a royal guard under the lead of Asgore to fight for monster kind. Her dad on the other hand (Dustin), took care of household duties, and loved interacting with humans on the surface. He became close friends with a couple that lived near the middle of the village which then in exchange, took good care of North, the daughter of Dustin and Arctic when they were much too busy with other things.

However, Asgore and the leader of the humans fought in a great war for power. The human army was more advanced than monster kind, and a magical spell sent them underground into Mt. Ebott. North stayed hidden with the kind couple that took such good care of her, and she was safe.

Humans didn't like her very much, being the only monster on the surface, and treated her like, well, a monster. Amber and Matt, the ones keeping her safe in their little house, were the only ones that loved her. Amber was a master at sewing, and made all of North's new clothes that looked very cute on her. Matt was the chef of the house, cooking meals and also reading stories to North that helped her fall asleep.

As North grew older, she wondered even more about Mt. Ebott, and how she could see her parents again. One night she leaves the comfort of the tiny house and goes off, going up the mountain. She had heard the legends, anyone that had climbed the mountain would never return, but she was willing to take that risk.

North stands at the top of the mountain, looking down only to see a dark, black hole staring right back at her. A strong force pushes her in, and she falls down into Mt.Ebott.

She awakens on a bed of golden flowers. And her journey starts there.

[In this universe, when humans sent the monsters underground, there was a way to prevent it. Their soul is what affected their ability to move, so if a monster is calm, their soul is too, and doesn't glow in response to its special trait.]

[The evil side of North is there because before she fell into the underground (that night when she was sleeping), someone had injected her with a mysterious substance to "protect her from danger," which only reacts in response of great fear or anger.]
