Before there was a Nightmare Moon she was once called Princess Luna. Finally I got the whole set done. Hope you guys like it. I really love how I did the background. ^^Luna (C) Lauren Faust

This is outstanding! It carries a darkened atmosphere very well, while simultaneously keeping to the style of the show. The lines are also very clean and smooth and the background does a lot to compliment the entire piece.

i love the work on luna, she is my favorite character even though she only was seen at the end of episodes 1&2. i'm looking forword for season 2 to see she will show up more often thorugh out season 1 i've been wondering where is she now and what is she doing.

That expression just shows she's still upset at her sister for sealing her in the moon for 1000 years. Who wouldn't be mad if that happened to 'em? The background, midground, & foreground are all well drawn. Excellent use of perspective to make the art pop. The colors & shading techniques make it look realistic. Your art is simply amazing. Bravo!

First off, Luna needs to find a contractor who will actually show up. At the very least the broken window should be covered and the plants removed. At least her comfy chair was moved in and looks like it's in great shape (especially after it had been in storage for a thousand years).
Seriously, the background is eerie and amazing, and I love the moon and dimmed stars behind the snow-capped mountains; closer is the forest below, so we know that this room is well above ground level. Also, to be fair, those vines are showing off some nice flowers (roses?) but it's just a bit dark to see the colors fully.
Princess Luna herself looks fantastic, and perhaps justifiably perturbed at her situation. (I like ~ScruffyToto 's idea too.) You'd think that her sister could let her stay in the guest room at the palace until the castle's renovations have progressed enough. She' very pretty and still regal, plus the "decorative yoke" (I'm sure there's a real name for those) and cutely tilted crown are great. The only thing that looks a bit weird to me are her elbows and forearms. I can't fault the shapes, but maybe it's something to do with the proportions or the shadows (lighting); maybe those long gloves could be hiding the right detail to make it clearer.
Still, it's a beautiful picture and shows a lot of feeling, with both the princess and the setting itself. How could anyone seeing this not want to somehow make her smile?

lol! thanks. I've been trying to practice my Backgrounds. Most of the time, I relied on BGs from the actual show. I tried as much as possible to make the BG look exactly as the temple in Episode 2 of MLP where they finally encounter Nightmare moon.
Nightmare moon looks pissed here because I'd like to think this is the part where her she encounters her sister and refuses to bring down the moon. Hence the pissed off expression and the necklace of Nightmare. Yeah I should of probably worked on the forearms properly.
