I don't see why this deserves over 3k faves. I've been trying to say this a long time ago, but this time, this deviation really drove me to the limit.

The fact I have a friend who laughs at everything funny doesn't seem to be amused by his comics. She'd give a puzzled look and tell me they're not funny.

It's funny, not hilarious. I don't look at his stuff every day, I only do when I see it on the front page.

I think it's fine when Kris's stuff gets on the front page... and here's why:
It always used to annoy me when I saw Naruto fanart or other popular anime fanart get on the front page just because it was fanart and not because it was well-done and artistically significant*.
But then I realized... this site is about community and art/design, so if many people in the community like it for its subject matter and will favorite it, then it deserves to be on the front page.
If this website were strictly about skillfully done art and not about community, it would be a different story... but its not.
I personally really like Kris's subtle sense of humor and enjoy his comics. This one isn't really one of my favorites but I think generally his comics have a lot of creativity behind them in thinking up the joke, not so much in the artistic rendering.
If a lot of people laugh because of this and decided to favorite it, then I think it deserves a place on the front page...
I'm not saying this to argue with you or criticize your opinion, just to present a different point of view so maybe it won't bother you to see his comics on the front page anymore.
*Note: Realize what I mean when I was talking about anime fan art, I meant the stuff that doesn't have skill behind it but is only on the front page because it has a popular fan pairing or something. I know there's a lot of anime-style art and fan art that is amazingly well done and takes a lot of skill but that's not what I'm talking about here.

What aggravated me the most was when some of his 14-year old fangirls compared him to Charles M. Schulz and Jim Davis. Some even said he was better than Schulz and Davis. I was like, "OH NO YOU DIDN'T!"
