Description
This ship could be considered to be the equal of the Imperial Battleship, being of similar mass and size, however, this ship is indeed far superior. The Dreadnaught sacrafices the Imperial Battleship's myriad heavy railgun turrets in favor of four pairs of extremely high-energy turrets that allow for virtual full coverage of the ship. The reduction in the number of on-board weapons systems allows the Dreadnaught to beef up in other areas; it is one of the few capital ships to carry shield generators (hidden in the "lumps" on the hull, along with extra sensors), it's armor is on average 2 meters thick, wth sensitive areas carrying even more weight, and the three fusion powerplants allow for the ship's main guns to fire with unprecedented power. The only shortcoming of the ship is it's vulnerability to fighters, as it carys only limited AA weaponry and usually relies on support ships to fulfill the anti-fighter role.

The above model was made using blender, and rendered via the internal engine. All items present in and on the model were completely and exclusively created by me, as I did not have (and STILL don't have) any libraries at my disposal. Curses upon you, blender developement staff, for that oversight.
