Nice work and emotions displayed from both characters.   Love them both and these two are amoung the 6 ongoing Marvel series I'm currently reading.

The confusion started due to that fact that Gwenpool technically was a alternate version of Gwen Stacy made for those June 2015 20 Gwen variant covers that she got her start from (thus why in appearance they are close because originally she was so).  Her cover sold so well and cosplays of her happened that in the end with a writer and a artist ready Marvel took a gamble on her.

The writer decided to make the character Gwen Poole her own separate character (though in interviews he has mention I think in the past that a small part of her is a bit Gwen Stacy but also many other factors as well making her a 'composite character')

That said due to the creative team choices she is her own character and not a token pure Gwen Stacy version like Earth-65 Gwen Stacy is.  I love both characters and series and there are many things I wished Marvel advertised better for them both.

For Gwenpool this factor being one of them (this cover here is informative and due to how many people judge on covers this information should of been openly presented some time ago www.midtowncomics.com/store/dp… ).

For Spider-Gwen the matter that as fans we nicknamed her 'Spider-Gwen' on forums which then was taken becoming her series title but in reality Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 is Spider-Woman!  Many people who doesn't read her series I've heard or read comments stating inaccurately:  "Why did she call herself Spider-Gwen?  I guess she doesn't have a secret identity?"   Plus:  "I can't believe they resurrected Gwen Stacy."
First off she is called Spider-Woman in-comic universe not Spider-Gwen.  "Gwen Stacy' I know they are talking about is the 616 version and she is still dead.  This is 65 version Gwen Stacy and in the multiverse there is no rules for characters to follow the same fates as other versions of them.  Plus fashion wise Gwen Stacy has a more punk fashion vs 616 60's fashion and 65 Gwen Stacy rarely worn that headband (her hair is shorter than 616's, usually messy and chaotic matching her life, action, and worries)

Lastly with so many people drawing Spider-Gwen without her mask and smiling looking sexy or beautiful it has made some people assume that she has no mask (which she does and is apart of her character/face like Peter's Spider-man mask/face is) many don't know that she does wear one, has a secret identity, and lastly how dark, punk art style and Earth vibe this rock drummer superhero lives in, and grim her series actually is.  It's not light hearted series or character (though there are times for breathers and jokes like in the Annual).


Overall I love Gwen Poole (and heart broken most didn't take a shot on her to discover her and now issue 25 is her last issue coming up in her series) and I love Earth-65 Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman (and worrying for her as the latest promo for the next "Fresh Start" comic era Marvel is advertising didn't have Spider-Gwen featured in the artworks of mentioned plus the info presented of her upcoming issues has me worrying for her series and her cast/world furthermore).

Ah, yes, that's true, Of course, Spider-Gwen herself is from a parallel Earth.
