Finally, page 4! Sorry it took so long.Is Fluttershy in fact a pegasus who's afraid of heights? I don't think it's as simple as that, because-- oh, look what Discord did! Never mind.

Kinda messed up if you think about it. Poor Earth Ponies. Especially in the season 2 premier when Discord took their wings and horns. Everypony was freaking out because they became Earth Ponies, meanwhile Pinkie and AJ just stand there like ._.

if a pegasus loses his or her wings, he or she does NOT become an earth pony. earth ponies have a special connection with nature and their surroundings and are by all odds physically a lot stronger. just because it's not visible doesn't make it any less special. it's not a coincidence that all pieces of agriculture shown in ths series is handled almost entierly by earth ponies.
you could say sth about fluttershy having a talent for caring about animals, but that's actually something extremely rare for a pegasus. note that in lauren faust's original design, fluttershy was indeed an earth pony and pinkie was a pegasus.
of course, if discord only transfers the wings, pinkie would gain the ability to fly in addition to her talents from being an earth pony while fluttershy would now have neither.

It should also be noted that pegasi have lighter βand more brittleβ bones, while earth ponies and unicorns have stronger, larger bones (typically they also have larger body frames, especially in stallions).

oh, nice! I really wish that Pinkie kept her wings though, it would of been so cool to have a flying Pinkie. Of coarse that would of meant the loss of flutters wings, but I still think it would of been cool. Sadly copyright has to get in the way.

Fluttershy may be scared of height, but she accepted that fact a long time ago and accepted it. She loves to be what she is: a pegasus. How could she rescue her flying animals afterward? And all those falling little creatures from the trees? Also, she is much more cuter with her wings.
