for bride they take extra care so she took 6 hours then it should not be washed for 12 hours lasts 15 to 30 days(she covered entire hand and legs up to knee)

initially it was pure herbal now they mix some chemicals it is green when you apply and it gives dark red color on hands and legs darker the color you get more is the love or your spouse for you(off course it is superstitious belief)

We have also Henna for brides, it is brown and we put a dot on the middle of the palm.
The Henna ceremony take place few days before the wedding and every one give presents to the bride
