Will be by your side, when all hope has died,
I will still be around.

When it comes to love songs H.I.M really has it down perfectly. When love and death embrace, for you, right here in my arms, wings of a butterfly, killing loneliness, beautiful, gone with the sin

I like most metal and hard rock. Dark metal is too much for some people. The underground metal gets pretty weird, lolx

If you like symphonic metal, check out dimmu borgir their best songs are progenies of the great apocalypse, the serpentine offering, and the sacrilegious scorn. Those are the best cuz their bassist at the time did back up vocals for em and his voice was that of an opera singers. Did the songs a lot of justice

Don't let the dark lyrics turn you away. That's how a lot of good metal goes unnoticed. Actually listen to it

Yea. But most bands that do survive, its not the front man that's replaced. Look at Metallica, they're on their 3rd bassist

Look at Alice in chains. Their singer Layne stayley died in 2002 of a drug overdose. God rest his soul. They broke up cuz of it, now back in 2012 they got a new singer and they released a new album

But it still ain't the same. The new guy just doesn't put the soul into the music like Layne did. Layne put soul, emotion, and meaning into each bar of lyrics and in his voice when he sang. The new guy don't do that at all

Eyup. Whats funny is when the Glam Hair Metal age ended, there was allot of unnecessary whining. The record companies killed it cuz they got too greedy. The bands were only doing what they were told cuz if you got a hit MTV with the teenage girls you were a millionaire. Then Guns and Roses came and there was more beards mustache and less tight leather pants and spandex. Then the thrash metal got number one albums. Then Faith No More came and glam metal hair bands got somewhat panicky. By 1992 the light were slowly going out for the poppy top 40 radio friendly metal. The music was starting to sound too much like heavy soft rock fuzzed with watered down classic rock Heavy metal artists were really pissed cuz the Glam Hair music took over the radio stations and MTV and got bigger contracts during the 1980s and eclipsed the real metal music. 1993 the record companies and bosses gave up and the new fans started rejecting anything that had to do with the 80s. 80s metal bands faded more every year. 1994 some were hanging on. Most were trying to change and do grunge hair glam fusion but the CD buyers knew better and the 80s fans smelled a sellout. Def Leopard, Bon Jovi, White Snake, Poison and Motley Crue just werent cool anymore and to some extent true heavy metal wasnt either and real heavy metal artists were pissed cuz they never liked hair glam metal.
