I broke the kiss slowly, pulling away from her. Her eyes opened slowly, her eyelashes fluttering.

She trembled slightly from the open window.
βI have to go,β she said hurriedly.
She quickly got off my lap and grabbed her jacket, rushing out of my room hurriedly. She ran quickly, one foot carrying the other down the stairs. I was quicker.
βI knew it,β I shouted triumphantly, following her down the stairs, βyou are scared! Youβre scared stiff that you actually like me, that you could ever fall for someone so outside your type-range. You like predictability, which is why youβre not over Jet. You know what pisses him off, what makes him happy, and he charms you over and over with the same tricks. But Iβm a mystery. And as much as you would like to deny it, you are drawn to me. You,β I said, jailing her between my arms and the wall, βare curious. And curiosity is inconstant, and that scares you to death.β
She shoved past my arm, nearly knocking me over in pure force.
βYouβre wrong.β
She reached for the door and pulled it open. As she took her first steps into the cold air, I pulled myself close to her, my lips nearly touching her ear.
βOne thing to remember before you run off to make up with your pathetic boyfriend,β I whispered seductively in her ear, βI fight for what I want.β
I kissed the side of her neck before slowly retreating back into my house and closing the door.

So cute! And I think tophang will have a strong basis, since Sokka loves (and even kissed) Suki, and the Zutang shipping is becaming almost a canon... Follow my theory:
Aang started to not liking Katara too much anymore since she treated Toph in a rude manner. Toph was thinking she had a crush in Sokka, but heartbreaked after discovering he luuuuurves Suki. Aang always treated her in a gentle manner, and she'll be more caring with him. Aang will notice Toph a little bit more, treat her better than he already does, and she'll like him too, if not already did.
Of course, she'll be less grumpy and hard-mannered after something bad and sad happening, or she getting pwned by someone (probably Zuko), or during some group of facts. It will make her more sensible, and she can mistake Aang's attention with love.
