I think people have different views about themselves what their potential is. What many people may think is awesome looking, the artist may think it's not even close to their best effort.
I keep thinking, wow, it's so weird how the mind works. Also, the one with the black hair could be a really good artist, but he really did have a bad art day. I love that open interpretation. There's so many levels of "greatness as an artist" that we perceive.

The person the blonde one (Sebychu) drew is from an anime/manga series. The character's arm is possessed, that's why it has an unnatural color.
You're right about the comic's context. It's also because "bad" is relative: For both people their art is bad if viewed by themselves, however for the black-haired person (Kunika) the colored drawing is much better, too good for scraps if it was their own.

aww man thats funny! My friends tend to do that to me also, I'd be trying to work on something but it ends up horrible and my friend would show me something amazing but just throw it off as scrap, but then they usually give it to me to help me since I wont let their good artwork end in a landfill!
