Once again, thank you all for the faves and comments! I'm unfortunately going to have to disable further comments because I've heard "omg she's supposed 2 b black u got it wrong!1!" one too many times and I'm sick of it, but for those of you who actually read and respected my comments, thank you

But please refrain from commenting about any "inaccuracies"-- this is the way I pictured the scene and Rue; I wasn't necessarily trying to be absolutely 100% book-accurate!Oh man, this picture may hold the record for longest time passed between start and finish. I sketched this and started inking it about this time last year while studying abroad in Japan. Just got around to finishing it today.
Rueeee! You can't tell me you didn't cry when she died! Her hair took me foreverrrr.
I hope my picture does her character justice ;A;

This made me cry, so beautiful <3 I loved little Rue, and I was so sad when she died. And this, this... I have no words for this. She looks so sad, yet s peaceful and happy... I'm in love with this picture now <3

i like how the lower half of this is super gory and then the top half is like "o look... a little angel!" ;but i think that's how it was meant to be portrayed in the book, loss of innocence.

I couldn't cry, because I pretty much read the entire series at school instead of paying attention. (surprisingly enough, my teacher never noticed)
But as soon as I got home, as in just as I closed the door behind me, I bawled. My mom was all "wtf?" ; I just held up the book and made strange whimpering noises (did the same with the other sad parts in the other books)
She just nodded understandingly (we're a book-loving family) and I went in my room for a few hours to cry.

factiod: her eyes are closed, the wound is covered with flowers, and her face is wreathed with flowers and yes she did leave the spear in so that the weapon would be gone from the games

I accualy was crying this whole scene. Rue should not have died. Very beautifluly done this is exactly how a pictured it

I like the composition. The angle, and positioning are great, and I love the way you have the spear coming up, but you should work a little on her face? Generally I don't care, but I almost feel like the hyper-simplistic anime style cheapens the feel of the moment. I dunno. Take it with a grain of salt if you will, but that's my opinion . . .
