LOL but I can't ever seem to draw him the way I want him ;______; If I can ever draw him to resemble the same person with each attempt there may be more to show

Maybe it's because you love him so much you're worried he'll look bad D:
Every time I worry too much while I'm drawing it looks icky in the end.
So just don't give a hoot while you draw
Ah, try a facial expression sheet? You'll be able to test if your art style is consistent or not that way

Yus that is part of the reason. CRY. I think too much and he usually comes out looking stiff and awkward ;______;Β
AHAHA I'll have to give that a try soon (Y) now that I have a better sense of lineart perhaps it may be presentable O:Β
Thanks laaaa

AHAHHA but I tend to have super thick lineart too O: It can be one of many lineart styles So there isn't anything wrong with it O:Β
You can try working with much smaller brushes, but not too small (since you might see lose the dynamics of the lines on that scale) and then you can build on a little bit of thicker bits at spots where shadows would be. Some small filled in shapes at those areas can be quite effective too *O* But it's up to you how you want to play around with it really I'm still fumbling around because sometimes I add too less and the lineart doesn't look any different :/

Ahahaaaaaa... remember my habit of zooming up close? *dies*
I guess if I want to work neatly I'll just use the linework layer.
But then my actual style is to work messy D:
I don't even know if it looks good or not

kuroSPITE In reply to Sealkittyy [2014-02-11 02:22:40 +0000 UTC]
But that's exactly what you can do I've only used the linework layer so far because I zoom in too much too :LΒ
I still like messy too, but I panic when I have to do lineart LOOL It seems a lot of pixiv style works can have pretty messy lineart but since it's on a massive canvas you can't tell. But even on a close up scale your 'messy' still looks nice anyhow

Seriously? I guess "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
No matter how messy my lines are Rob still says they're perfect because they're exactly where they should be.
But does messy lines drag down the value of art? I feel like people would pay more for perfect 1px lines D:

Beauty definitely lies in the eye of the beholder xDΒ
Messy lines shouldn't drag down the value of art if they're there for an intended effect O: More valuable art doesn't necessarily have to have 1 px lines either. If the rest of the picture doesn't work with it, then people can fail to notice the merit of the 1 px lineart D;Β Different people prefer different art styles so one style may be worth more to certain people :l

AYE! Then I shall charge whatever the hell I want 8D
Because I want to be taken seriously as an artist here but everyone keeps undercutting prices and dragging down the value of our time and effort >__<
Now EVERYONE expects art to be cheap. How can I make a living from this?
I'm just gonna... go be a garbage man. I don't have to talk to people. I just drive a truck and pick up bins. Pay is good too because nobody wants the job.

YUS Β
...That might include me right? I still panic at the thought of getting paid a significant amount for something I'm not sure I can pull off. (and that goes for just about everything I attempt )
Actually I've also heard that garbage men get good pay xD Met a guy who became one actually and he's pretty happy with it xD ...but drivingggggg

LOL you charge a decent amount. I'm not sure how much to charge or if I'm worth paying $40.
But like, someone is pouring their time and effort to make pretty pictures. How can you tell them "no, I'm giving you $2, I don't care if you need $100 for your medication to live"
WOWOWOWOW to everyone who thinks like that...Β Excuse my language butΒ "maaaaang ai sat".Β
Let us go be garbage men together. I'll drive
