Description dear violet,
how should i begin?
finally talking to you after such a long
seperation has given the word change
much more depth than it once had for me.

your once-stringy blonde hair isn't so stringy
anymore.
it is replaced by the starchy,
ammonia-soaked black dye
you bought when
theo (your jailbird of a boyfriend)
told you he liked dark hair better.

your sweet blue eyes are no longer
framed by yellow stars of eyelashes.
chalky black eyeliner and
your gunk of mascara melt over
them like the ice cream we ate in the third grade.

your cheeks turn the very colour
your lungs aren't (cigarettes stain, honey)
when you drink.
which is everyday.

remember when you came over
and my mom told us we couldn't use
the knives because we could
"cut ourselves"?
we deemed it ridiculous then.
but, hey, accidents happened, right?
good thing you have all those wristbands
that cover up your wrists and arms.
people actually think people do that on purpose.

i'm glad i could write this to you, violet.
it's nice to get things off my chest.
i guess you don't have that feeling,
your shirts are ridiculously low-cut.

amber.
