I think I'm pretty slow or forgetful but what does Damp do? Was that the ability Water-Ground Type usually possess?

A fast swampert sounds nice. Damp prevents explosion and selfdestruct, two moves that are rarely seen from gen V onwards due to their power reduction (When a pokemon used sefldestruct or explosion in the first 4 generations, the damage calculation was made with half the defence of the attacked pokemon).

Honestly, I've always loved the mudkip line, it was all the starter I picked for honnen the water/ground typing is amazing.

Unfortunately the Treecko evolutionary has a poor level up learnset. Sceptile's best stat after speed is special attack but until around level 67 his only grass special move is absorb (if you allow it to evolve at the lowest level it can at). Best option would be to keep Trecko until level 50 at which it'll have got Giga drain and Energy ball (there's energy ball TM but I don't think that was in the original game so I don't know where in the story you'd get it). That'd said Swampert's best stat is attack and the only water attack move it can do is waterfall so.. On the flipside water ground is a pretty baller combination since it only has x4 weakness to grass.

hmm well my friend and i agreed that we would not pick the same starter and heΒ chose treecko and so ended with mudkip but i am Warming up to the line and i really like mega svampert.

I forgot to mention that I have no clue what the mega stats would be and that Sceptile's movepool would have to increase to accommodate the dragon typing (I think its only dragon move atm is dragon claw).

Swift Swim makes sense to me. Just look at dem arms. He'd probably paddle faster than any oar or propeller could go. And with those fins and that slick, buoyant amphibious bod, he'd probably glide though the water like a battleship (sorry if that sounded weird I have a bit of a mancrush on mega swampert

Yes, the ability is totally weird. It doesn't fit to that bulky beast at all. Not sure how to think about it. I'll have to see the new stats first.

That isn't broken actually (Unless that was sarcasm X'3),Β Sceptile there isΒ just be harder to cripple now aside from Will O' Wisp... unless you was to get crafty and carry glare, or body slam/tri-attack it till paralysis comes around.
