Description
The past few days I have been tweaking her face around to finally find a good mix between realism and the Alice as I remember her from my childhood. It took me two days to get her face that far (you know I think even those thinking I copy pictures might get the point that I probably wouldn't have to spend two days on a face if I would do that..but anyway...) As you can see in the 100% Closeup - it is still pretty rough and needs a lot of cleanup and tweaking still. But I think I am finally on the right way to be more or less satisfied with her facial expressions
From left to right:
About the actual size of her in the magazin view / 50% Closeup / 100% Closeup (messy! >_<
Decided to upload this to my Deviation section because I don't like looking at those tons of steps from my spring overview thingiemajing (sorry).
The actual character sketch (without the background though) can be seen in my scraps section.

Wow... this is really amazing... the only problem i have with it is her freckels... they seem a tiny bit too precize and well placed... technically they should be all over her face, not just on her nose and her cheek (yes most noticable there, I know i have them myself, but i also have them everywhere else)... just something that kinda struck me as a little bother.
Other than that i can't wait to see the final picture.
Take care
Jeste.

thanks for the input the dots now are basically a leftover of an earlier tryout on a seperate layer then by mistake merged it down.
I most probably repaint them anyway..but then. That detail is lost in the magazin size anyway >_<

yeah.. but we are artists... we love the detail even if its only us who know that they are there.
but yeah... can't wait to see the final.

Well I commented the face and my comment about it stays. But I have to add, that the skirt blew me away the first second I layed my eyes upon it! Could you please show a closeup of it?

Oh, the only thing I do, is state an obvious you know Even if it's not done it looks really good - the angle and the colros are fantastic, so it already made me anxious

Haha, you think the 100% closeup is messy? More like, what the size in the magazine SHOULD be, lets see a foldout poster!!

Thanks
Glad you like this. I am normally a bit hesitant to post wips but ever since I started this here it makes me feel better about my own way of working and besides it might show that I am not doing paintovers or whatever

I think it's horrible that you feel the need to justify yourself just because of the idiots out there. but hopefully doing this will shut them up. I find posting WIPs helps me learn a lot, especially when amazing artists such as those on cgtalk give back critique.
Thanks again it's a pleasure
